Financial Responsibility Pledge
One of the ways that you can teach teenagers to be responsible is to have them make commitments. Additionally, providing a visual reminder of their commitments can help them stay on track. Before allowing your child to use a credit card or a debit card, or as part of a school financial literacy effort, have students sign the Financial Responsibility Pledge.
This Pledge contains the steps that will help your student remain financially fit, and reinforce lessons of fiscal responsibility. On top of that, the act of signing the pledge can imply a binding agreement that many students will feel obligated to follow through on. Use this as a tool to enhance your lessons on responsible credit card use and the value of financial planning.
