Write a blog post – get paid $1000

The first-ever Personal Finance Guest Blogging Contest is open!

Here are the key points:

  • Approaching $3000 in prizes
  • Top prize is $1000
  • 13 prizes in all
  • There is still time to add to the pot - sponsor information at the end of this post
  • Anybody can enter - you don't have to be a personal finance blogger
  • Entries will be accepted until January 31, 2011

ANYBODY CAN ENTER.  ANYBODY CAN WIN.  Do you have an interesting experience with money?  Do you have thoughts on money?  Do you have advice on money that can help others better manage their personal finances?  Can you write an engaging and memorable blog post on the subject?  If so, you might walk away with $1000 just for sharing!

Please read the "Official Entry Rules" first, so that your entry is not rejected.

Summary:  Write well-written, memorable and useful blog post on almost any personal finance topic (there are a couple exceptions), in English, keeping in mind our international audience.  You can submit the post for review right into our WordPress platform.  We strongly advise that you read the complete rules very carefully (the link to create your submission account is on that page, so you have to at least pretend you read the rules).  Then make sure read the "How to Win" page.

Very important - Don't forget to link back to our sponsors and to this post. Grab the sponsor code into a post on your blog, too - or just cut and paste the  from the post below and don't forget to also link back to this post.

Winners will be judged on how well they write, how creative their ideas, how useful the information and how well they promote their posts.  Comment count, tweets and social bookmarking count.  Links in count.  Well written, well promoted - that's what it takes to win.

Here is the list of our sponsors (which will be updated)

If you wish to join them and become a sponsor yourself, please see the details following the sponsor list.

Sponsors: Want Heroic Branding? Community Leadership? Tons of Backlinks?

Sponsoring a guest blogging contest is a great way to reach multiple markets at once, since every entry requires that a different blogger mention your sponsorship on their blog. Which also means, you get a nice infusion of traffic and plenty of keyword-rich, contextual backlinks from a variety of blogs.

The earlier you get in, the more blogs will mention you as sponsor, the more traffic you will get, the more famous you'll become and the more backlinks you will get.

$200 Sponsors will be listed at the top of the others, along with a logo and keyword-rich text link. All entrants will have to mention you as sponsor and link back to your website.

$100 Sponsors will be listed next, along with a keyword-rich text link. All entrants will have to mention you as sponsor and link back to your website.

$50 sponsors will be listed last, along with a keyword-rich text link. Entrants will be given the option of mentioning you as sponsor and link back to your website.

Over $200? If anyone wants to sponsor more than $200, please let us know. We’ll work out a custom package for you.

How to sponsor?

Please contact David at info [at] seo-writer.com about sponsorship. Get in early for the most publicity, the most traffic and the most backlinks.

This sounds like a great contest. There is also a contest going on now that asks you to shred a credit card and document it with a video. My video is called “The Credit Fairy”; and it’s short and funny. There’s still time to enter that contest, until 1/27/11 – just a couple of days. If you want to visit it please vote for my video. Thanks! tiny.cc/h9xwt
