Engage Brain Before Engaging Credit Card

Don't let the convenience of a credit card go to your head.  Some things are just not meant to be purchased, even if you can put it on plastic...

Credit cards are extremely convenient.  Without them, there would be many situations that we would simply miss out:

  • When you see something you've been wanting and is on a deep discount, it helps to have a credit card on hand, so you don't have to rush to a bank.
  • When you see something that is one-of-a-kind and might not be there by the time you rush to a bank.
  • When you want to pay for something more than just groceries, and carrying $1000 cash in you pocket just doesn't feel safe.
  • When traveling a lot and you don't want to be caught without local currency.

But not every opportunity is the chance of a lifetime, even if advertisers would love you to think so.  And even if whipping out your credit card makes it easy to buy anything on whim, doesn't mean you need to do so every time.  There are some things that you just shouldn't put on your credit card.

And that  enticing bargain on a quick lobotomy?  Use your brain!
