Is it Canadian Law that all credit cards have a chip?

My credit card company says its the law that credit cards change to cards with chips, I asked who wrote the law and the person did not know the answer.

I don't believe there is any law that requires "Chip and PIN" credit cards. The move to chip and PIN credit cards was an initiative by Visa, MasterCard, card issuers, and merchants to improve security for all parties involved in a transaction.
