Am I better off with a Travel Points card or a cash back card?

Is it more cost effective to use restrictive travel points or cash back dollars I ca use anywhere?

I like using a cash back card because it gives me more flexibility. Also, if I decide not to travel I can use my cashback to get me through the crazy Christmas spending spree. Sometimes I also don't travel by plane so I can use cashback money to by bus and train tickets. Cash rules!
