The best way to know is to wait a couple of weeks to receive a letter in the mail from the bank or credit card issuer that approve or decline your application.  Another way is to call their 800 number after a couple of days to check on the status of the application.

If you applied online two days ago, you could find out by calling them.  Some issuers depending on their policies will likely tell you to wait a couple of weeks for something in the mail.
